
All this week the Metro is showcasing some of the commissioned artworks as part of the ODA’s Art in the Park programme, bringing public art to the Olympic Park. The above photo’s show Clare Woods’ Carpenters Curve (photo by Ben Fitzpatrick), inspired by her time working in the area in the 1990’s, Hackney artist Martin Richman’s One Whirl, a bridge over the River Lea designed using recycled glass, and DJ Simpson’s untitled punched aluminium piece (photo Ben Fitzpatrick).
BT Story Teller Andy Wilkes blogs about Monica Bonvicini’s RUN sculpture being installed by the hand ball arena as part of the Olympic Delivery Authority’s Art in the Park programme. RUN is three nine-metre tall letters spelling RUN, mirroring its surrounding during the day, whilst at night it will glow with internal lighting.
